Our Story
A Home Built for Families Who Wanted Real Alternatives.
The warmth of home, the professionalism of trained caregivers, and the peace of mind your family deserves.
Our Why
Why This Home Exists
We watched families struggle and loved ones fade in large facilities where they were room numbers, not people. We watched families torn between guilt and exhaustion, and decided to create something different. A home where residents are treated like family, where caregivers know every person’s story, and where families find the peace of mind they have been searching for.
You are looking for peace of mind, and a place where someone who genuinely knows your parent can carry the responsibility of their care with the same love you would.
Our Promises
What We Promise Your Family
Your Parent’s Dignity First
We never rush, never talk down, never treat care as a checklist. Your parent is not a task. They are a person with a lifetime of stories and wisdom to share.
We Keep You Informed
Open communication and visits are welcome. We set up a communication plan based on your family’s preferences and needs. You stay in the loop on what matters and you choose how involved to be.
Small by Design
An adult family home with up to eight residents allows for more attention to each one. We choose quality over quantity, every day.

Becca Pitts
Co-Owner & Real Estate Broker
Becca has spent 15 years as a licensed real estate broker in Washington and is a Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES), guiding families through the housing transitions that come with aging. She built Burien Best Care Home after navigating senior care for her own family. She knows the exhaustion of looking for a place that feels like home, not a facility. She built this so other families would not have to search the way she did.

Daniela Torkelson
Co-Owner, Provider & Resident Manager
Daniela was born in Romania, earned degrees in Chemistry and Physics, and moved to the United States in 2007. She has opened more than 40 adult family homes and now oversees 11 across King County. She served on the board of the Adult Family Home Council of Washington State, is a published author, and is mother to eight. She brings deep clinical knowledge and the steadiness of someone who has loved and raised a large family of her own. Residents feel safer the moment she walks in the room.
A Place Where Families Belong
Our door is open for morning coffee, for dinner, or for no reason at all. Your parent’s home is your home, and your pace is yours.
We keep families informed about what matters, and we welcome your visits and questions. You decide how involved you want to be. There is no right amount, and we meet you where you are.
Your parent isn’t just being cared for. They are being loved. You are never an intrusion, and you belong here.

Come See It for Yourself
The best way to know if we are right for your family is to walk through our door. See the home. Meet the team. Feel the difference.
